A broad regional reference, not a claim about which mountain hosted the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16–20).

Geography source

Galilee is a real region. Matthew 28 does not name the mountain. The regional marker is not an exact Great Commission location. Water outlines are schematic.

The biblical account

Prepared narrative summary · not a Scripture quotation

The journey now leaves Jerusalem. Matthew places the eleven disciples' meeting with Jesus on a mountain in Galilee. His account includes worship and doubt, followed by a commission to make disciples among all nations, baptize and teach. This chapter uses a Galilean landscape to honor the location stated in the text without naming a mountain Matthew does not identify. Acts describes a related commission to witness in an account with its own setting and emphasis. Read these passages distinctly rather than treating them as one precisely mapped event.

Historical context

Matthew identifies Galilee but does not name the mountain of this meeting. No viewpoint in the artwork is presented as the established Great Commission site. Acts 1 should not be relocated to this Galilean scene.

What does it mean to carry Jesus' teaching faithfully beyond one's own community?
