Selah is a Bible study application and a project of Genesis Soundworks. This policy explains what information Selah actually collects and how it is used.[Owner/legal review needed:legal business name and mailing address of the operator]

Information we collect

• Account information:your email address, an encrypted password (or Google sign-in details), and an optional display name.
• Study information:bookmarks, saved explanations, reading progress, Study With Me progress, and your Ask Selah conversations.
• Contact form submissions:first and last name, email, optional telephone number, optional mailing address, inquiry type, message, and your consent choice.
• Device preference:your chosen Bible translation is stored in your own browser.
• Technical and security information:standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) processed by our hosting and database providers to deliver the service and prevent abuse.

Selah does not use advertising trackers and does not sell personal information.

How we use information

• To provide Bible reading and study features.
• To save your preferences, bookmarks, and reading progress.
• To respond to contact inquiries and provide technical support.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

We do not use contact details for unrelated marketing without your consent.

AI processing

When you use live study explanations or Ask Selah, the verse you select, its text, and the questions you type are sent to Anthropic (Claude), a third-party AI provider, to generate a response. Anthropic processes this information under its own API data policies. Optional text-to-speech of explanations is processed by an AI gateway provider. Cookies and consent

Selah stores your cookie choices, translation preference, and welcome-dedication dismissal in your own browser. Optional analytics remain off unless you allow them, and you can change your choices at any time from the Cookie Settings link in the footer. See theCookie Policyfor the full list.

Service providers

Selah is hosted on Lovable's infrastructure, which stores account and study data in a managed database. Bible text is retrieved from a public-domain Scripture service. Contact notifications may be delivered by an email service provider. These providers process information only to operate Selah.

Donations and payment providers

Optional donations currently use external Cash App and PayPal links or mail. Cash App and PayPal process transaction information according to their own privacy policies. Selah does not directly store full credit card details or collect online payment confirmation through these links. Clicking a link does not confirm payment. Payment providers may deduct fees. No new payment tracking scripts are added to Selah.

Data security

• Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• Database access rules ensure each person can only read their own study data.
• Contact submissions are visible only to authorized administrators.
• API keys stay on the server and are never exposed in the browser.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

Account and study data is kept while your account is active. Contact submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records.[Owner/legal review needed:set specific retention periods]

Your choices and rights

Children
